Please take a moment and help us save Mount Moresby Adventure Camp for the youth of our community.
The BC government is about to approve a permit to allow TimberWest Forest Corp to log the outdoor classroom of Mount Moresby Adventure Camp, the most highly used outdoor education facility on Haida Gwaii. The educational programs that use this small 16 ha forest are part of the school curriculum in the Haida Gwaii School District, and are an opportunity for all students on Haida Gwaii. The camp has been running for 10 years, and over 1,300 students have attended.
There has been overwhelming support from the communities of Haida Gwaii, the Council of the Haida Nation, the school district, and parents to protect this outdoor classroom. Concerned individuals have started the Friends of Mount Moresby Adventure Camp facebook page.
Please ask the BC government to find a solution to save our outdoor classroom.
